Program Overview

THE INTERNATIONAL AFRO CENTRIC CIRCUS INC. SAVE OUR YOUTH NO MORE SAGGING PANTS will take our shows directly into the communities of the disadvantaged youth; by creating service programs designed to improve their education levels and open up opportunities for them to attend college

The Path to Higher Education (Tutoring)

Program Leader

  • Develop master schedule for the youth.
  • Schedule tutors
  • Provide tutoring

Tutors

  • Math (Basic, Algebra, Geometry, Calculus)
  • Science (Basic, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
  • Social Sciences (Computer Skills, Foreign Languages, Sociology, Psychology)
  • Reading (Phonics, Comprehension, Literature)
  • English (spelling, Grammar, Composition)

Role Model and Peer Mentoring

Under the mentoring program, SOY/NMSP nurtures and empowers youth, by providing them with positive influence, personal and professional development, and post secondary opportunities for the future. Mentors will provide:

1. Personalized guidance about life.
2. An insight to their experience and knowledge as a professional.
3. Introduction to various career options and opportunities.
4. Information about academics and keys to success.
5. Introduction to local community resources.

Preventing Violence & Drug Use (Counseling)

Violence prevention counselors will use tools including: Educational Materials, Videos, Role-Play, Educational Debates, Group Discussions, and Guest speakers. Substance prevention counselors will use Books, Videos, Role-Play, and Educational Debates.
