SAVE OUR YOUTH NO MORE SAGGING PANTS INTERNET CAFÉ

Will be an environment where our troubled youth can meet Mentors who will help them:

  1. Set goals, plan, & work the plan
  2. Work on better study habits
  3. Work hard on improving their self-image
  4. Begin eating nutritious meals
  5. Exercise daily
  6. Think positive & stay focused
  7. Always be happy
  8. Giving back to the community

The Path to Higher Education (Monitoring)

  • Develop master schedule for the youth.
  • Schedule tutors
  • Provide tutoring

Mentors

Tutor will be available for the following areas
  • Math (Basic, Algebra, Geometry, Calculus)
  • Science (Basic, Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
  • Social Sciences (Computer Skills, Foreign Languages, Sociology, Psychology)
  • Reading (Phonics, Comprehension, Literature)
  • English (spelling, Grammar, Composition)

Role Model and Peer Mentoring

Under the mentoring program, SOY/NMSP nurtures and empowers youth, by providing them with positive influence, personal and professional development, and post secondary opportunities for the future. SOY/NMSP innovative program recruits volunteers from college and universities as well as the local business community.

1. Personalized guidance about life.
2. An insight to their experience and knowledge as a professional.
3. Introduction to various career options and opportunities.
4. Information about academics and keys to success.
5. Introduction to local community resources.

Preventing Violence & Drug Use (Counseling)

SOY/NMSP goal is to prevent violence and drug use in youth by building their interest in school and their own future. This is also accomplished by focusing on their attitude, beliefs, expectations and desires related to violence and drug use. That is then channeled into a conscious effort to rebuild social ties, self control and develop social skills.
